Frequently asked questions

Who is LeerVonk for?

For VWO students. You practise all your subjects in one calm place, at your own pace.

Which subjects can I practise?

You practise your VWO subjects in one place: Dutch, English, maths, biology, physics, computer science, history, geography, Spanish and Latin. And we keep adding new subjects.

Can I do my subjects in English?

In a bilingual (tto) stream at your Dutch school? In the lower years (leerjaar 1–3) you practise history and geography entirely in English — the questions and the explanations. And we keep adding more.

What does it cost?

LeerVonk is running as a private pilot: you request access. There’s no payment, subscription or price at the moment. Any future paid features will come with new terms, communicated in advance — you will never be charged automatically. Read the terms (in Dutch).

How safe is the AI tutor?

The tutor stays on your schoolwork, explains and gives hints — it won’t just hand you the answer. Messages are moderated, and LeerVonk is made for teens.

What happens to my data?

We work privacy-by-design. Our database is in the EU; the AI tutor processes your questions in the US under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). No trackers, no ads, no selling your data. To start, we only ask for your first name and e-mail.

How do I stay in the loop as a parent?

While setting up, your child can add your e-mail address. You get a calm overview by email — encouragement, not a report card and no looking over the shoulder. That address also gets important safety alerts.

How is this different from an ordinary practice site?

One calm place for all your subjects, all year round — not per subject and not just your exam year. No leaderboards, no streaks. Mistakes are information, not failure.
